ABOUT ME
I was born and raised in England until I was four years old. I then lived in Australia for two years before landing in America at the age of 6. Due to living in all these diverse environments as a child, travel and the outdoors have always been a part of my life. I gained a passion for nature, photography and outdoor education throughout my time in America.
I attended high school at the State College Delta Program, this is an alternative school to the public high school in State College PA. The Delta Program is a democratic school that allows its students to weigh in on all the decisions that the teachers and school boards may typically make. Delta also has individualized learning that allows students to learn about things they are truly interested in. Because of this learning style I was able to graduate a year early from high school and pursue a degree in Recreation, Parks and Tourism Management with a focus in outdoor education with a Certificate in Earth Sustainability at Penn State University.
Since pursuing this degree I have had the opportunity to partake in numerous hands on learning experiences such as working closely with Shaver's Creek Nature Centre where I was given the opportunity to run programs for local elementary school groups such designing and running field trips, school visit, and an overnight outdoor school program. I have also been given the opportunity to design various programs such as events for incoming freshman to help them acclimate to college life, and designing a mountain bike program for the local youth. With the experience and opportunities I have pursued, I hope to pursue a career in outdoor education and adventure recreation. |
Just walk, see, sit down if you like. And be. Just be, whatever you are with whatever you have, and realise that that is enough to be happy. |
